A little about us

An Introduction to Awesome Blossom Plants:

Awesome Blossom Plants was created in 2015 in St Augustine, Florida. I wanted to create a Nursery of Exotic and unusual plants. I searched and found a property and cleared the land to begin my dream. I built 2 - 2,000 sq foot wood frame with shade cloth covering the top completely and had irrigation set up there as well. I had wire-connecting posts for my rare Japanese morning glories to grow as well as my Angel Trumpets, Iochromas, Abutilons, Cannas, and so on. I had not been here 6 months and was hit with 3 Hurricanes that year, which in turn absolutely destroyed my work. 2 of 3 Greenhouses that were 10 feet by 20 feet were tangled like a pretzel, the plants had been relocated and I only found not even 10% of them, as the property behind my backyard is protected wetlands and the flooded water pulled them into the wetlands..

I salvaged what I could and kept going. I replaced my plants and spent thousands and 2 months after that, I was flooded. A Nor'easter just rained for days and days and the water from the street and houses across from mine broke on my property and thousands of gallons gushed in so fast, like a river breaking a dam, and the fact my backyard was up against the wetlands, my back property was almost waist deep. Even then, I tried to find plants pushing a surfboard around as I walked in the water, if I found a pot, I dove under and grabbed it, and set it on the surfboard. After 2 days I gave up knowing water moccasins and gators could be in the waters as I saw fish.

By then, I had grown several vines in the front and was able to sell the seed and that is really how this all started. I only had a few, and so I went searching for flower seeds that I liked and thought others might like too. I purchase small amounts of seed so I can keep it fresh, I have spent a lot of time trying to bring flowers here that could grow here but you don't ever see them as many are from Europe or Africa and Asia. Since a Nursery was not meant to happen, this has been amazing and fun and I try very hard to be fair and generous to all who visit. I am but a small business ( there are 2 of us ) that will always be small but I will always have flower seeds that any Gardener would love to grow. I am building collections to ensure the customers enjoy their time here and in the Garden.

So, grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and get lost in the amazing photos of gorgeous flowers, so good for the soul.
