Coreopsis Tinctoria - Plains Coreopsis seed

Coreopsis Tinctoria aka Plains Coreopsis or Tickseed – is an annual wildflower in the Asteraceae family, growing up to 40-inches tall and 18-inches wide. These plants have abundant 1-inch, showy, yellow flowers with reddish-brown centers that sit on top of slim, green stems. A prairie plant native to North America, it prefers full sun and moist soil, it can be grown in partial shade but may not perform as well. Although an annual, it will self-seed for the next year.  Attracts butterflies, bees, nectar insects, and birds to the garden but is resistant to deer and rabbits. Used in herbal medicine to treat diarrhea, internal pains, and bleeding. Also used in making dyes. However, please do your own research and/or consult with a physician first before consuming any type of flower or plant. Great for mass plantings, meadows, and making your landscape beautiful. Some nice features of these flowers are that they are low maintenance and easy to grow. I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
