Gentiana Quinquefolia - Stiff Gentian , also known as agueweed, native to northeastern North America, these purple biennials grow to 2 feet and are collected by many gardeners for their unique bottle-like shape. Being a biennial makes this pollinator a strong addition to the garden as it blooms twice with much needed late season color and is recommended for home landscaping. Flowering from August to October, note, the bottle-like flowers can only be accessed by bumble bees as other insects are not strong enough to pry it open.
