Liatris Spicata – Floristan Violet also known as the Gayfeather, is a perennial that is prized for its fluffy wands of bright flowers that are a violet-purple color. This plant flowers in succession from top to bottom over the span of 4 weeks or more, and has nice, tufted flower heads that contrast nicely with its grassy, finely textured foliage. The narrow opposite leaves will stay attractive all Summer long, and then turn a rich bronze color in the Fall. This plant has a blooming season that ranges from early to late Summer, grows best in full sun in moderately fertile, moist, well-draining soils, and will grow between 3 – 4 feet tall. A nice feature of this plant is that it is heat, drought, cold, and poor soils tolerant. I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
