Lupinus perennis – Perennial Lupine also commonly known as the Wild Lupine and the Sundial Lupine, is a showy perennial that has elongated, narrow clusters of pea-like flowers that are usually deep blue, that are borne atop erect stems that rise above the blue-green elegant foliage. They have a blooming season that lasts from mid-spring to mid-summer, can be grown in either full sun or partial shade in acidic, sandy, dry, well-draining soils, and will grow up to 24 inches tall. A nice feature of these plants is that they do require good drainage, however, they are very adaptable. These flowers are rich in nectar so they will attract numerous pollinators to your gardens such as hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and birds! The flowers are followed by seed pods that are hairy and will ripen in mid-summer. Birds and small mammals love to feast on them! Wild Lupine is a cool-season plant that will die down in the summer heat, so if you live in an area that has hot and humid summers be mindful of this. These flowers do well in beds and borders, informal gardens, meadows, and prairies. A nice feature of these flowers is that they are low maintenance. Don’t miss out on this flower seed find, they will give you blossoms that will definitely add a nice pop of color to any garden!

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine,Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
