Nepeta Racemosa – Felix also known as the Dwarf Catmint Felix, is a Perennial that has a uniform and compact habit and has abundant flowering until frost! It has deep lilac-blue two-lipped, tubular flowers, and bluish gray fragrant foliage. A neat characteristic of this plant is that the flowers will be purple in the Summertime! It has a blooming season that lasts from May to October, can be grown in either full sun or partial shade in dry, well-draining, average soils, and will grow up to 10 inches tall. It flowers in the first year and is a honey-bee food plant. It is recommended to cut back after flowering to maintain a compact shape and to also encourage second flowering. These flowers will attract numerous pollinators to your garden such as Butterflies and Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. They do well in containers, in beds and borders in the garden, and can also be used as a groundcover. Another great feature of this plant is that it is drought tolerant. I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
