Penstemon Hirsutus-var Pygmeus F. Albus. Aka Dwarf White Beardtongue. This cute white perennial plant is one tough little soldier! If you want pretty flowers that grow anywhere and not picky about soil, no fuss and breeze through rough weather, this plant is for you! Blooming from June to August, it is a native to NE America and is frost hardy. These tough little cuties form a low mound of hairy dark evergreen leaves sprouting erect stems bearing numerous white tubular blooms. Low maintenance is a mild statement about this plant because they aren’t needy for anything. You don’t even have to remove the spent flowers if you don’t want to; they will fall off themselves and disappear. Attracts Hummingbirds, Butterflies and Bees as well as other beneficial pollinators. When winter comes you can watch the foliage turn a bronze red color. These flowers will thrive well in rock and gravel gardens, but they are usually seen hanging over rock walls. They can be used for borders, edging, wildflower gardens and also hanging over containers. If you have an area with poor soil, plant these there and watch them grow!

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
