Poppy Papaver Paeoniflorum - Black Peony seed

Poppy Papaver Paeoniflorum - Black Peony has captivating blooms that come in the rarest of hues, almost black, that are a deep maroon, and the flowers look like gathered petals that rise atop strong, tall stems. The sea-green color of the foliage complements the flower’s smoldering hue quite nicely. It has a blooming season that ranges from Spring to Summer, grows best in full sun in rich, moist, well-drained soils, and will grow between 24 – 36 inches tall. A nice feature of this plant is that even though it does prefer evenly moist soil, it can tolerate drought. It is recommended to stake these plants to help hold up the heavy-headed flowers. These flowers will attract pollinators to your garden such as Bees while being resistant to Deer and Rabbits. They make great cut flowers and do well in borders. You don’t want to miss out on this plant find, it will surely add a nice pop of color to your garden!

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!

SEED GERMINATION TIP!!!!!!!

ONLY GERMINATE A SMALL PORTION AT A TIME.

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR MONKEYS IN A BARREL.

Good Luck and Happy Planting!!!!
