Salvia Farinacea - Blue Victory. This showy sage is a native of southern Texas and New Mexico, and a member of the mint family. Salvias are wonderful flowers for your pollinating pals and each garden should have salvia for their food source. It can be grown as an annual or perennial with a long bloom time from summer to first frost. The plant grows tall and upright making it a wonderful choice to put around borders. It is bushy with sturdy stalks, presenting with deep violet purple blooms stacked above green lance shaped foliage. This plant is very hardy and is tolerant to some harsh weather conditions. It is a self sower and can be deadheaded if desired to encourage further bloom time: or you can allow the flower heads to form sacks of black or brown seeds to gather. Proper spacing is important to the success of this plant to allow for adequate airflow, and deterring possible disease or pests. If the plant becomes victim to pests, you can gently
hose the plant down when watering.

There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
