Salvia Pratensis Ballet Series - Meadow Ballet Color Blend. Aka: meadow clary sage. This
showy and tough plant is well loved worldwide. It presents with cushion forming, densely
packed medium green, wrinkled, oblong basal leaves. The leaves are VIP’s (very important “plants”) in the brewery and wine industries because the leaves play a large part in flavouring the beer and wine. Can’t get much more important than that in most cultures of the world today. The flowers are also awesome, produced on the top of 20-inch stems blooming from June to August, in lovely hues of pink, white, blue, and violet. Afterwards, there is a good probability you can get a second round of blooms if the spent flowers are removed in a timely fashion, which would more than likely depend on your climate. A native of Europe, Ukraine, the clary sage can be found in nutrient poor grasslands, dry meadows, and slopes. The plants are easy to grow and are familiar with adapting to a harsh environment. They prefer cool summer regions but are known to endure extreme heat and high humidity once they are established. Attracts Hummingbirds, Butterflies and Bees as well as other beneficial pollinators. Cold hardy from zone 3-8. Popular uses for the plants are pathways, borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, mixed containers and as cutting flowers. They are also used as a food plant for honeybees.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
